Do good people still exist? Yes, they do.

I now see that the terms of 'good people' have switched a little bit (personal opinion). Everything, to become good, becomes more transactional, or there's a kind of 'currency' to achieve such goodness.

Especially in this country, where morality still sits at the top of social discourse but is only treated as a cover while decadence is the thing that is actually happening: corruption cases in many levels of government structures, sexual scandal cases in boarding schools, theft and vandalism of public facilities, exortion from local communities or mass organization, and a lot of it.

Becoming 'good people' even becomes currency, where you have to pay or give something to get the service or help from them.

But fortunately, thank god, there are still some good people out there.

I saw it on my way back home from the office weeks ago. Since I know that there are a lot of potholes on my route that left unfixed for long times, so I know where's the safest lane to go through. Sometimes it pissed me off to see that ignored potholes while cursing the government (who is responsible for that) and saying that "someday, someone will get an accident because of it".

And speak the devil. Boom! It surely happened right beside me. Someone fell off because of one of the potholes. The victim was a young man who was on his way back home, and yup, he's not local people. He just tried to avoid the traffic jam; that's why he was trying another route.

In a matter of seconds, a few people gathered to help this poor man. Some of them initiatively brought him to the pedestrian, while others checked his motorcycle and all the stuff he had brought.

And there was a guy who carefully asked permission to take his smartphone so the man could contact this guy's family members. (One friend of mine got his smartphone stolen when he had an accident)

And there was something that amazed me: suddenly, out of nowhere, a group of people came and gave him proper medical treatment. I thought someone called for a hospital or something, but it was purely a community or special group that helped him. I asked who they were, and they were from the ride-hailing community.

They acted so quickly; once they helped to take care of him, they left.

Finally, his family arrived and brought him to the nearest hospital. And there is one, the ride-hailing community taking care of his motorcycle. What a great people out there. And yes, they still exist.

Always amazed by those who are able to "make time" to visit God in the midst of their busy lives. #respect

OMOD = One Mosque One Day

1/21/2025

This post wasn't meant to show off or be boastful, but it came from a quick answer when my wife asked about what resolution I want to achieve for 2025. Instantly, I replied, "Maybe it'd be nice if I were able to pray in a mosque at least once a day."

So, for the next journal, I will share photos of my journey of visiting (to pray, of course, duh) the mosque at least once a day. Bismillah.

Hope it can inspire whoever you are out there to do the same thing, and in the end, we can make it five times a day. Amin. (P.S.: the photos will be uploaded in a bundle, as much as I can.)

I have always admired those who have the skill to create this symmetrical graphic. Pure art. Bless you all.

Somehow, it's like representing earth, the place where we live, and the infinite sky, where god belongs, right?
Picture
Respect for those who are always able to stop by the mosque to pray. 🫡 Since we tend to excuse ourselves to keep going because we are afraid of whatever reasons we have.

Quick observation: most of the attendees are older people. Approximately 45 y.o above.
